Single pass printing, up to 24" x 24", with a printhead that has one output for each process ink, assuring high fidelity color. Our software and hardware produces accurate colors caliberated to a matchprint, without having to produce film.

Fine Art Printmaking (Giclee prints)
 

Giclee (zhee-clay) is a French word which means "spraying of ink."  Because no screens are used, the prints have a continuous tone appearance. The dynamic color range is greater than serigraphy.  In the Giclee process, a fine stream of ink (more than four million droplets per second) is sprayed onto archival art paper or canvas.  The effect is similar to an airbrush technique but is much finer.  The process is capable of a standard of quality that exceeds conventional Fine Art printing, while offering the potential for new creative expression.  Exact calculations of hue, value, and density direct the ink of four nozzles.  This produces a combination of 512 chromatic changes (with over 7 million colors possible) of highly saturated, nontoxic water- based ink.  The artist's final color approval and input are essential for creating the final custom settings for the edition.  Newly developed inks used at Fontographics provide prints that will last more than 50 years under normal room lighting, making IRIS PRINTS ideally suited for exhibition and display.

Canon Cyclone Color Laser Output (2-4 hours turnaround)
 

Fontographics can output Full Color Prints from your Mac and PC files and make copies from your original photos and artwork. We have a Canon CLC 700S Color Laser Copier connected to a Silicon Graphics O2 Cyclone RIP. We use Colorbus for calibration and  to maintain a consistent color.
